Competition Privacy Policy

You will be asked to provide personal data on our website. These will be stored and processed, as required for the purposes of the competition.
Shure Europe GmbH assures that your information will be kept confidential in accordance with data protection regulations, participant data will be stored on jotform.com and Google Drive for entry-processing purposes and will not be shared with any 3rd parties apart from Shure, its subsidiaries or distributors. Public entry information will be stored in WordPress where the competition is hold. For questions, please contact info@shure-vocal-mastery.eu

Competition Terms & Conditions

Participation in the online competition based on the website http://www.shure-vocal-mastery.eu and their implementation are in accordance with the following provisions.

  1. Shure calls Vocalists to participate in a contest.
  2. Participants will be asked to provide one picture, a short description, and one song.

  4. The closing date for entries is December 22nd, 2015, 2:00pm Central European Time (CET). Participants have time until January 7th, 2015, 2:00pm to collect plays and likes on Soundcloud.
  5. The competition is open to all EMEA countries*. Participants must be of legal age of majority as determined by the local law where you reside.
  6. The prize can only be rewarded to a Vocalist who is legal age (as specified in 5.). The participant must be available to travel on the determined dates for the masterclass and recording. Participants are responsible of having their travel documentation and needed VISA or other travel permission in case they win the competition.
  7. Entry limited to one per person. The participant in this competition must be non-professional, i.e is not to be already signed to any major record label.
  8. The participant must send his submission in accordance with the instructions on the submission page on the website http://www.shure-vocal-mastery.eu. Submissions will not be accepted by e-mail, post or other means not specified on the aforementioned website.
  9. Shure reserves the right to reject any entry.

Submitted Song, Image & Usage Rights

  1. The entrants represent and warrant that the song is the entrant’s original work. In addition the entrant represents and warrants that the song shall not contain any so called samples and/or other copyright material owned by a third party.
  2. All entrants declare that the songs uploaded are not subject to rights of licensors, management companies (e.g. GEMA – German society for musical performing and mechanical reproduction rights) or other third-parties.
  3. The entrants agree that Shure will forward their contact information in any case of copyright infringement to the infringed party.
  4. No song and picture submitted as part of this competition, regardless of age, should contain sounds or words that could be offensive to the reasonable person on grounds that it discriminates against or is discriminatory to any person or group (whether on grounds of sex, race, religion or other).
  5. Entrants retain right over the submitted pieces of music and picture. Shure warrants not using the recording beyond the necessary in connection with the competition.
  6. The participants grant unlimited right of use (no download) of the submitted materials to Shure on Shure websites or social media sites used by SHURE.
  7. By entering and submitting a song and a picture, all eligible entrants agree to abide by each and all of these general rules, the terms and conditions that govern the competition.

Campaign Mechanism and Prize

  1. The winners will be selected as follows:
    • Entries will be accepted until December 22nd, 2015, 2:00pm Central European Time (CET).
    • Participants have time until January 7th, 2015, 2:00pm to collect plays and likes on Soundcloud. The Vocalist must obtain at least 300 plays on SoundCloud to qualify.
    • From this pool of qualified entries Shure chooses a pre-selection of 20 participants. This shortlist will be published on January 11th, 2016 in the Vocal Mastery website.
    • An extra participant is selected by the community: the entry with most likes by January 7th, 2015, 2:00pm CET will be shortlisted automatically. If the participant with most likes already is on the shortlist, the participant with second most likes from the community is selected as extra participant and so on.
    • These 21 shortlisted entries will then be evaluated by a jury consisting of:
      • Jono McNeal – ACM Vocal Coach
      • Erika Footman – ACM Vocal Coach
      • Konrad Birnbauer –Scout at Universal Music
    • The jury will select five winners. The jury’s decision is final and binding on the entrants. No correspondence will be entered into.
    • The winners of the prizes agree that Shure will forward their contact information to the jury members, Shure Distribution Centers, and to Shure Distribution BeNeLux, Shure Distribution Germany, Shure Distribution UK or any Shure distributor.
  2. All entries received by December 22nd, 2015, 2:00pm Central European Time (CET), and having reached at least 300 plays on https://soundcloud.com/groups/shure-vocal-mastery until January 7th, 2016 will be judged by Shure. It is not allowed to buy plays or likes for your song on Soundcloud for this competition. Shure reserves the right to remove an entry in the case of fraudulent use.
  3. Approval process of uploaded entries may take 2-5 working days (time between completed upload and actual publishing)
  4. The prizes consists of the following:
    • 21 shortlisted entries win a Shure MOTIV MV51 microphone.
    • 5 final winners (selected from shortlist) receive:
      • 2-day trip to London, UK including a Master Class at ACM and a Studio recording at Metropolis Studio (dates: February 19th-20st, 2016)
      • All expenses concerning flight and accommodation are covered by SHURE, no carriage of bulky goods like drum-sets, pianos or alike.
      • Products worth 1.000 € (based on Recommended Retail Price) from selected Set as stated at Vocal Mastery web site.
    • All dates might change in the course of the campaign.
  5. No cash-payment of the prices is possible.
  6. The hardware prizes will be shipped from Shure or a third party parcel service to the winner.
  7. The claim to the prize is not transferable.
  8. The winners will be announced on the official Vocal Mastery Site on January 22nd, 2016 and the winners will be notified by e-mail within ten working days thereof. All reasonable endeavors will be made to contact the winners during this time. If a winner cannot be contacted before this time on the mobile number or email address supplied by the entrant with their entry, Shure reserves the right to select the entrant whose entry the judging panel consider to be next best.
  9. Shure reserves the right to contact all participants during the contest.
  10. Newsletter: We’ll offer a Newsletter (double opt-in) where everybody can register to get updates on this campaign. The subscriber can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time through the unsubscribe link in each mailing.
  11. Shure reserves the right, with or without cause, to exclude entrants and withhold prizes for violating any of terms and conditions. Shure reserves the right to amend these general rules. Any amendments will be published on the website.
  12. Uses of personal data received by Shure in the course of the competition are subject to the privacy policy found on the website. The winner’s names may be published on the websites.
  13. Shure reserves the right at any time to cancel, modify or supersede the competition (including altering prizes) if the competition is not capable of being conducted as specified.
  14. These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany.
  15. If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is held to be invalid or unenforceable, such provision shall be struck out and the remaining provisions shall be enforced.
  16. By entering the competition all entrants are deemed to have accepted and be bound by these General Rules.
Shure Privacy Policy

We are deeply committed to protecting personal data of our visitors and treating it confidentially. We are therefore explaining below what information we collect and how we handle it.

Type of collected information

This web site uses Google Analytics, which is a web analysing service of Google Inc. (“Google”). E-mail contact

If you send e-mail messages to us or request information material from other bodies, please enter your name, address and e-mail address and provide some more details. This data will be stored and be used exclusively by Shure Europe GmbH. Please note that not all details are mandatory, so you are more or less free to choose what information you entrust to us. The mandatory details are needed by us to provide the services you request us to perform. You may, of course, visit us anonymously or under a pseudonym. All data will be stored and processed separately and will never be linked. Shure Europe GmbH does not establish user profiles.

Duration of storage and deletion

Personal data will be stored for a maximum of 6 months or until the service requested by you was performed. Contact data which you transmitted to us for subscribing newsletters are excluded. Such data will remain stored until you unsubscribe the newsletter. You may, of course, decide at any time to require that all or parts of your data be deleted. We will abide by such a request without delay.

Transfer to third parties

Shure Europe GmbH will not transfer collected data to third parties, especially it will not be sold, hired out or exchanged. We will transfer such data to the required extent only if we use subcontractors or agents who need that data for providing the services requested by you. In this case, we will place an obligation on our partners to treat data confidentially under the law and to delete it as soon as it is no longer needed. We hope you will understand, however, that we cannot monitor compliance with this obligation in every respect and deny liability for any breach thereof.

Social plug-ins

Social plug-ins of various social Internet networks are integrated on our web pages (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Google+, YouTube or Pinterest). They allow you to place bookmarks on those pages and to share the bookmarks with other members of the social Internet networks. You can recognise social plug-ins by the logos that can be seen on the web pages of the social Internet networks
